harper point

on-set

In a pocket of someone sitting close to you right now is a sweet phone protective case made by OtterBox.  I’ve even had my precious iPhone safely tucked in one of their cases since day one.  So understandably I was pretty excited when they asked us to shoot the ad campaign for their Pink Series case.   This was great news because a: we get to work for OtterBox, and b: 10% of the sales of this product are donated to the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade. Now they’ve launched their campaign, so I can finally write a blog about it!

So the idea was to make energetic yet realistic images of women (wearing bright pink things, of course) doing all sorts of ‘out and about’ things including running, hiking and biking, and also to get photos of the new pink case on location.  Then the OtterBox design team creates illustrations over the photos to complete the look of the campaign.

It took a 7 am start time (and I am not a morning person), a lot of sweating (gross, I know), and some great athletic ladies we made work their shots over and over again on a very hot July day to get our images, but it was a day that reminded me how happy I am to have this career. Also, this was a particularly fun shoot because they asked my wife, Kira and our 2-year-old son, Jude to model for our Downtown-at-Night series. What’s not to love?  Also, a nice public ‘thank you to Caleb’, who’s primary job that day was to light our models, which meant when they ran, he ran.

So enough already, here are some results of our very long and very fun day of shooting.
