December 13, 2011 New 50′s Glam- Katie and David Get Married (Post by Kira)
These two have so much style I can’t even handle it! The wedding took place at Lions Gate in Lafayette Colorado. Their colors were red, black and white and the girls had matching tinsel extensions. Katie is going to hair school and she did all of the girls hair and make-up. The cake had Frankenstein and his Bride and was created by Intricate Icings and as usual was AMAZING! Although it was freezing and very windy we managed to get some great outdoor shots before the sun went down and the indoor shots are some of my favs with this awesome location. Thanks for letting me be part of your stylish day!

September 27, 2011 Colby & Danny: Married! (Post by Sarah)
Kira & I traveled to the shores of Lake McConaughy in Ogallala, NE to take pictures Colby & Danny on their wedding day. It was pretty much a photographer’s dream… a lake! a windmill! a lighthouse! chandeliers! mason jars! sparklers! a wild ride in an RV! I mean really, what more could you ask for? Thanks, Colby & Danny, for a wonderful day!

August 30, 2011 Michelle & Dave: Married! (POST BY SARAH)
Caleb and I drove on some really windy roads behind crazy people to get to this wedding, and we drove through an insane rainstorm to get back home. And it was totally worth it. I love small, intimate weddings, and it was an honor to hang out with such warmhearted, hilarious people in the breathtaking scenery surrounding Wild Basin Lodge. The wedding party consisted of Michelle’s daughters, Annika & Emma, and the guests were close family and friends. The music was provided by a duo that Michelle & Dave just happened upon in a coffee shop. It was cozy, relaxed, and simple, and we loved it. Oh and you were right, Michelle, the salmon was AMAZING.

August 16, 2011 Harper Point Gets Pink (post by Nate)
In a pocket of someone sitting close to you right now is a sweet phone protective case made by OtterBox. I’ve even had my precious iPhone safely tucked in one of their cases since day one. So understandably I was pretty excited when they asked us to shoot the ad campaign for their Pink Series case. This was great news because a: we get to work for OtterBox, and b: 10% of the sales of this product are donated to the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade. Now they’ve launched their campaign, so I can finally write a blog about it!
So the idea was to make energetic yet realistic images of women (wearing bright pink things, of course) doing all sorts of ‘out and about’ things including running, hiking and biking, and also to get photos of the new pink case on location. Then the OtterBox design team creates illustrations over the photos to complete the look of the campaign.
It took a 7 am start time (and I am not a morning person), a lot of sweating (gross, I know), and some great athletic ladies we made work their shots over and over again on a very hot July day to get our images, but it was a day that reminded me how happy I am to have this career. Also, this was a particularly fun shoot because they asked my wife, Kira and our 2-year-old son, Jude to model for our Downtown-at-Night series. What’s not to love? Also, a nice public ‘thank you to Caleb’, who’s primary job that day was to light our models, which meant when they ran, he ran.
So enough already, here are some results of our very long and very fun day of shooting.

August 4, 2011 Senior Love (POST BY SARAH)
I can’t pick just one of these ladies to blog about, so here are some of my faves from the 2012 grads we’ve had the chance to shoot so far this summer: Canace, Claire, Kadie, Lauren, Lauren, and Mackenzie! Coming soon: Ally, Andi… and maybe, just maybe, we’ll get to work with a guy or two (hint hint)…

July 21, 2011 What would you be? (Post by Nate)
Hi, this is Nate, and I’ve been a lazy blogger. But last week I got to shoot the team at Studio Be here in Old Town Fort Collins and it was so much fun I had to get a post in. In order to both enhance to the company’s visual brand and also let each subject have their voice we had each person come up with a phrase incorporating the “BE” in the company’s logo and write it on our custom-made studio set. Thanks to Ian and all the stylists who let me have one of the most fun days of studio shooting ever. PS. We’ve been doing all sorts of exciting new advertising photo shoots so stay tuned for more sweet shots.

July 7, 2011 Susan & Charlie: Married! (POST BY SARAH)
First of all, I have to say that we love Susan and Charlie. They have a few things in life figured out: handmade beats store-bought, the natural world is not to be taken for granted, and words from the heart mean more. Their wedding was a mind-blowing outpouring of love and craftiness, and an amazing example of what a wedding can be when you roll up your sleeves and do things yourself. Susan called it an art installation, and boy was it! Countless hours went in to gathering and creating the details of their day, which was held at a Rist Canyon cabin way off the beaten path. Their venue wasn’t really made for weddings, so they had to create their own ceremony site (which I heard included the removal of a bear carcass). Susan and friends sewed all the napkins and table runners. Place cards were hand-typed. The vintage tea tins on the tables were filled with poems. Each guest got an antique hanky (much-needed – those vows were ridiculous). Cards for the couple went into an old dollhouse, and guests typed their well-wishes on a vintage typewriter. And I still think about the food – local, organic, vegetarian, and glorious. The list of things I loved about this wedding go on and on…
But I’ll let the pictures do the talking. I don’t know how I managed to narrow it down to the few photos I’ve included here, but I hope you’ll enjoy what we captured! Thanks Susan and Charlie, it was rad.

June 27, 2011 Young Love… Amanda & Aaron Are Engaged! (POST BY SARAH)
Amanda and Aaron have a special place in my heart… Amanda and I became buddies last year when I shot her senior pictures, and it just so happened that she was going on her first “not-a-date” with Aaron that night. She wasn’t totally sure about him at that point, so I sagely advised her not to give him the wrong idea. Seeing as we’re now planning their wedding, it’s pretty obvious that she didn’t take my advice. Good thing, too – they are the cutest Star Wars nerds ever to fall in love. And they’re having a cowboy wedding and I can’t wait!
